Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcycle accidents are often more complex than auto accidents because motorcycle riders frequently suffer more severe injuries, but are not protected by the same kind of medical insurance that covers cars. In addition, juries often have an unfair impression of motorcycle riders as being “risk takers.”
Our experience and expertise in representing motorcyclists and their passengers has allowed us to achieve impressive results, even in cases where the initial police report placed some or most of the blame on the motorcyclist rather than the other driver.
If you own a motorcycle, even if you only ride occasionally, you should protect yourself by making sure that your motorcycle insurance policy will provide additional coverage if you are injured in an accident by someone who either has no insurance or has too little insurance. You can protect yourself by purchasing under insured motorist coverage (“UIM”) and uninsured motorist coverage (“UM”) on your motorcycle insurance policy. Your own auto insurance policies generally will not provide any protection if you are hurt on a motorcycle, even if you have paid for full tort as well as UIM and UM coverage. Your separate motorcycle insurance UIM and UM can protect you even when your helmet, jacket and boots can’t.
