Rita J. Bonner, Esquire
Rita J. Bonner has been practicing Social Security Disability and Veterans Benefits Law since April of 2007. Prior to joining Silver and Silver, she worked for Genex Services, Inc. in their Social Security Disability Division. Ms. Bonner earned her Bachelor of Arts from La Salle University with a dual major in Criminal Justice and Psychology. After graduating she served a year in Mesa, AZ with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and worked as a crisis counselor at a domestic violence shelter. After returning from Arizona, she worked for a year as the coordinator of the Victim Witness Program at Chester County Juvenile Probation. She then entered law school and earned her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, DE. She is currently admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey state courts, throughout the country in Social Security cases, and is accredited by the Veterans Administration.
During her time at Widener University School of Law, Ms. Bonner was the president of the Public Interest Law Alliance, spent a summer representing Philadelphia's indigent population with the Homeless Advocacy Project, and worked with the Widener Veterans Law clinic. Since graduating, she has traveled throughout the country in order to successfully represent clients in their applications for Social Security Benefits.
